HERSTORIES. The Stories, feminine plural. Tales of women from the past, the present and the future.

HERSTORIES hopes to trace a path through women’s collective narratives. What we intend is to make a wide-ranging story of women’s lives, where the history of each one of us is also that of all the others.
Taking its starting point from a series of films, it tries to stimulate a dialogue with the spectators, making them actresses in their own stories.
The stories converge in an audio report and a short film where each participant is encouraged to use the creative tools most congenial to her.
The Storytelling, telling each other, can improve our existence with the knowledge, the feeling of being part of an active collective. Talking about the past and the present to imagine together a better future, more equal, supportive.
The project, planned originally during the spring of 2020, has been suspended and postponed because of the restrictions following the Covid-19 emergency and now it is virtual&real.
We invite you to tell your stories. You are invited to send us, keeping the focus on the relevant themes, your personal stories in an audio recording ( max 2 minutes), your photos & drawings (max 5) which says something about you, of your house, of your favourite places, of your life, one of your poems or a short novel. These materials will be published on our social media channels and on our website and will be part of the audio documentary and video-collage. Together!
We are sorry but all the seats for the lab are already booked. We hope that for the new edition everything will back to normal!

Crowdfunding 2.0

Detour is a non-profit organisation based on the voluntary work of its members and everything that comes in is immediately reinvested. For more than 20 years we have been going along on just our own strength, without ever chasing or receiving support from either private or public institutions for the daily running of our activities, always looking only at the quality of our programme of activities and establishing a relationship of trust and empathy with our members.
Well, we have to tell you truthfully: this time we are running the risk of not being able to continue and soon we will be at the point of no return
Your contribution has been and will be crucial to try to resist and will help to defend one of the last bastions of independent cinematography in our city.
The friendship, esteem, and generous support you have shown us so far have been simply extraordinary! We will publish a collection of some of the most touching messages that accompanied your donations.
Thanks to your contributions, we have reached the first milestone and this will allow us to pay essential rents and utilities related to the prolonged period of interruption of the activity, avoiding the imminent risk of being buried under the weight of the accumulated debts.
However, the blanket of uncertainty lowered on future scenarios, the impossibility of setting aside a quota for summer fees, the awareness that a “phase 2” will involve us, among the last in order of time, by a partial and quota-authorisation reopening, consequent to the adoption of burdensome and complex sanitation measures, requires us to keep our guard high.
We are asking you to choose one of the proposed options set out in our special crowdfunding campaign.

LUCKY. A bittersweet meditation on life

LUCKY follows the spiritual journey of a 90-year-old atheist and the quirky characters that inhabit his off the map desert town. Having out lived and out smoked all of his contemporaries, the fiercely independent Lucky finds himself at the precipice of life, thrust into a journey of self exploration, leading towards that which is so often unattainable: enlightenment. Acclaimed character actor John Carroll Lynch’s directorial debut “Lucky”, is at once a love letter to the life and career of Harry Dean Stanton as well as a meditation on morality, loneliness, spirituality, and human connection.
