La Banda Bassotti \u00e8 un gruppo musicale Ska-Punk-Oi! romano, uno dei pi\u00f9 importanti sulla scena indipendente europea. <\/span><\/p>\n

In trent\u2019anni ha suonato in tutto il mondo, dal Giappone al Sud America, e venduto pi\u00f9 di 200.000 dischi.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sigaro, Picchio, David e Pasquale negli anni \u201980 fanno i manovali nei cantieri di Roma.<\/span><\/p>\n

La pausa pranzo in cantiere \u00e8 una tribuna politica, un giorno leggono su Il Manifesto: \u201csi formano brigate del lavoro per il Nicaragua\u201d. Laggi\u00f9 il Fronte Sandinista combatte contro la dittatura, c\u2019\u00e8 la guerra e la guerra distrugge. Cos\u00ec i quattro manovali partono con pala e piccone perch\u00e9 la libert\u00e0 si pu\u00f2 costruire.<\/span><\/p>\n

Di ritorno a Roma i manovali continuano a fare i manovali e nelle manifestazioni di piazza costruiscono i palchi, \u00e8 il loro modo di contribuire alla causa. <\/span>
\n Un giorno – con Clash, Specials, ranchere e ritmi latini nel cuore e nel cervello – i manovali salgono sul palco e nasce la Banda Bassotti che, dalle borgate romane, parte per un viaggio musicale e politico in sostegno delle lotte di liberazione e di indipendenza dei popoli.<\/span><\/p>\n

Banda Bassotti is an Italian ska-punk-Oi! band formed in 1987 in Rome. Their songs are generally political in nature, focusing on radical-left issues. Many are about Ireland and Latin America, as well. The band was inspired by The Clash and The Specials. The band was very politically active from the very beginning, attending protests and sympathizing with anti-Fascist movements in Italy.
