Un documentario che reinventa il road movie, infilando strade oblique e misurando la Francia contemporanea.
\n<\/span>Agn\u00e8s Varda, leggenda del cinema francese, prima donna regista a ricevere l’Oscar alla carriera, e JR, giovane street artist francese, in viaggio attraverso la Francia rurale a bordo di un bizzarro camion-macchina fotografica, in un percorso fatto di dialoghi, ricordi, riflessioni, dei luoghi attraversati e soprattutto delle persone incontrate. “Le immagini che affiorano sono giocose, spettrali e belle e commoventi: Andy Warhol incrocia Walker Evans. Visages Villages<\/em> lancia un potente messaggio sul tipo di societ\u00e0 che stiamo diventando. \nThe 90-year-old director goes on the road with street artist JR to create remarkable, moving portraits of the people they meet. Here\u2019s a wonderful warmth and playful indirectness to this essay\/road movie in the classic nouvelle vague spirit, conjuring a semi-accidental narrative in the midst of what is ostensibly a documentary. 
\n<\/span>It is a collaboration between the 90-year-old director Agn\u00e8s Varda and a 35-year-old French street artist who styles himself simply JR and always wears a hat and dark glasses, indoors and out \u2013 an opaque mannerism, almost a disguise, which Varda compares to her old comrade Jean-Luc Godard, and which irritates her a little bit.
