Alla soglia dei novant’anni Lucky tiene fede al suo nomignolo. Pur fumando un pacchetto di sigarette al giorno e bevendo alcolici, le sue diagnosi mediche sono impeccabili. Ma dopo una caduta comincia a temere la morte e la solitudine.

\nLucky \u00e8 un film di attori, anzi di attore: un Harry Dean Stanton straordinario alle prese con la performance di una vita, in cui infonde elementi autobiografici e schegge delle maschere indossate in passato. Una parabola sulla paura della morte e su come affrontarla per ritrovare interesse e stupore nella vita.
\nC\u2019\u00e8 tutta l\u2019America rurale e suburbana nel film di John Carroll Lynch, con le tavole calde e i drugstore persi nel nulla. Stanton, alla sua ultima interpretazione, si mette a nudo sia nel corpo che nell\u2019anima. Il suo vissuto reale, \u00e8 lo stesso del suo personaggio, che ha una sua saggezza zen tutta nello sguardo e nella bocca sottile.

LUCKY follows the spiritual journey of a 90-year-old atheist and the quirky characters that inhabit his off the map desert town. Having out lived and out smoked all of his contemporaries, the fiercely independent Lucky finds himself at the precipice of life, thrust into a journey of self exploration, leading towards that which is so often unattainable: enlightenment. Acclaimed character actor John Carroll Lynch’s directorial debut “Lucky”, is at once a love letter to the life and career of Harry Dean Stanton as well as a meditation on morality, loneliness, spirituality, and human connection.<\/span><\/p>\n
