Leone d’oro della Biennale di Venezia. In concorso al Sundance Film Festival. Primo lungometraggio dell’artista americano Doug Aitken, il film racconta il viaggio da New York a San Francisco su un treno concepito come una “scultura cinetica di luce”. In 24 giorni, sono state toccate oltre 4.000 miglia viaggiando in treno attraverso gli Stati Uniti coinvolgendo un gruppo di artisti, musicisti e performer tra cui Patti Smith e Beck. Aitken non si limita pi\u00f9 al solo mondo all\u2019arte, ma spazia verso letteratura, musica, cibo e cinema. 
\nUn film che esplora gli infiniti linguaggi della creativit\u00e0 contemporanea e il significato stesso del fare arte. Tra i momenti pi\u00f9 belli anche il racconto di un concerto con coro gospel tenuto da Beck nel deserto del Mojave.
\nIl film fa parte del progetto ACROSS.VIDEO ideato e curato da Cristina Nistic\u00f2 dal 2004 per il Detour. Dal 2016 collaborano al progetto Ornella Vaiani e Vera Fusco.
