ITA. <\/span>Hissa Hilal \u00e8 la voce dietro il velo: la sua arma \u00e8 la parola. Hissa \u00e8 una scrittrice autodidatta e decide di partecipare a “Million’s Poet”, un talent show di Abu Dhabi, la pi\u00f9 grande competizione di poesia del mondo arabo, diventando la prima donna a raggiungere la finale. Nelle sue poesie critica la societ\u00e0 araba patriarcale e i leader religiosi sauditi per il loro estremismo, davanti a 75 milioni di telespettatori. Non vedremo mai il volto di Hissa: come la maggior parte delle donne saudite \u00e8 coperta dalla testa ai piedi. Non pu\u00f2 guidare un’auto, non ha passaporto, deve chiedere il permesso del marito per ogni attivit\u00e0. Da dove arrivano il suo talento per la poesia e il coraggio di salire sul palco rischiando la vita?<\/span><\/p>\n

In a society where the art of poetry is alive and well, ‘Million’s Poet’ is a hugely popular X-Factor style talent show. Storming through the rounds, and becoming progressively more political in her critique of religious extremism and her patriarchal society, Hilal became the first woman to reach the show’s final speaking with wit and lyricism on live tv to an audience of 70 million.
