Giunge alla sua settima edizione On The Road Film Festival: cinema di viaggio, errante e di frontiera. Con anteprime e lavori inediti ispirati a esplorazioni urbane o di terre selvagge, attraversamenti di geografie reali o immaginarie, itinerari di confine, digressioni da percorsi prestabiliti e sconfinamenti, OTRFF traccia anche quest\u2019anno un percorso inedito di cinema internazionale indipendente e on the road. <\/span><\/p>\n

Otto lungometraggi in concorso, in gran parte anteprime europee o nazionali, e una sezione competitiva dedicata al cortometraggio accompagnano il pubblico alla giornata conclusiva con l’assegnazione del Premio Miglior Film Film On the Road, le menzioni speciali e i premi collaterali. <\/span><\/p>\n

A presiedere la giuria lungometraggi, Marco Videtta, affermato autore e sceneggiatore (Nordest e i romanzi del ciclo Le Vendicatrici). Con lui in giuria, il documentarista Leonardo Cinieri Lombroso e la montatrice Silvia Di Domenico. La giuria dei cortometraggi \u00e8 presieduta dalla regista documentarista Sabrina Varani (Pagine Nascoste, Riding for Jesus). Con lei in giuria la regista e montatrice Eleonora Marino e il documentarista e curatore Lior Levy. <\/span><\/p>\n

Gli spettatori hanno la possibilit\u00e0 di votare i film in sala e assegnare un Premio del Pubblico per ciascuna sezione in concorso.  <\/span><\/p>\n

Nella sezione fuori concorso il festival presenta due opere d’autore fuori dall’ordinario: Family Romance, documentario insolito e sperimentale di Werner Herzog, girato interamente in Giappone e visto all\u2019ultimo Festival di Cannes, e Il Flauto Magico, musical postmoderno e sognante interpretato dai musicisti-attori della multietnica Orchestra di Piazza Vittorio, diretti da Mario Tronco. <\/span><\/p>\n

Tutte le proiezioni, in lingua originale con sottotitoli in italiano, si svolgono al Cinema Detour di Roma nel corso di due weekend consecutivi, dal 14 al 16 e dal 21 al 23 febbraio 2020. <\/span><\/p>\n

Il festival \u00e8 interamente auto-prodotto dall\u2019associazione culturale DETOUR APS, che gestisce in proprio una sala di proiezione e uno spazio socio-culturale polivalente senza barriere architettoniche, con annessi caffetteria e wine-bar, a Via Urbana, in uno dei distretti pi\u00f9 caratteristici del centro storico cittadino. <\/span><\/p>\n

We are delighted to announce the official selection for the ON THE ROAD FILM FESTIVAL 7th Edition. Truly independent festival without any public or private funding. <\/span>Both feature films and shorts films in competition will be screened at Detour Arthouse Cinema within a period of two consecutive weekends, from 14 to 16 and from 21 to 23, February 2020<\/strong>. The Award Ceremony will be held on the night of February the 23rd.<\/span>
\nBased at the legendary DETOUR Arthouse Cinema, in the heart of Rome since 1997, ON THE ROAD FILM FESTIVAL is devoted to contemporary independent cinema \u2013 fiction, documentary and experimental \u2013 presenting travelogues, urban and waste-land wanderings, real or imaginary topographies, unexpected detours, psycho-geographical drifts, migration and nomadism.<\/span>
\n<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Eight feature films in competition, mostly European or national premieres, and a competitive section devoted to short films will lead the audience to the awards ceremony, in which the “Best Film On the Road<\/strong>” prize will be awarded by a Jury of experts, professionals and authors.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

In the “Out of Competition” section the festival proposes two extraordinary docufilms: Family Romance<\/strong>, an unusual and experimental documentary by multi-awarded director Werner Herzog<\/strong>, shot entirely in Japan; The Magic Flute<\/strong>, a postmodern, dreamy musical starring the musicians-actors of the multiethnic Orchestra of Piazza Vittorio <\/strong>directed by Mario Tronco<\/strong>. The audience will thus have a great opportunity to approach independent cinema and confront the issues faced by emerging directors.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

The jury of the feature films section is chaired by Marco Videtta<\/strong>, a well-known author and screenwriter (Nordest and the novels of the cycle The Avengers). With him on the jury, Leonardo Cinieri Lombroso (director) and Silvia Di Domenico (editor).<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

The jury of short films section is chaired by filmmaker Sabrina Varani <\/strong>(Hidden Pages, Riding for Jesus). With her on the jury, Eleonora Marino (director and editor) and Lior Levy (curator and director).<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Agosto 2014: l\u2019undicesima edizione del Beijing Independent Film Festival, viene fatta chiudere: un documentario dal tema delicato, “The Spark”, diretto dal regista Hu Jie, ha attirato su di s\u00e8 le ire del Governo. The Observer \u00e8 il ritratto di un artista cinese e dello straordinario lavoro che attraverso il suo cinema, ha regalato alla ricerca storica, contribuendo a dissolvere la nebbia di un passato a lungo oscurato. <\/span><\/p>\n

In August 2014 the 11th Beijing Independent Film Festival was shut down. The Government couldn\u2019t tolerate the screening of some \u2018sensitive\u2019 works, particularly a historical documentary called \u201cSpark\u201d. \u2018The Observer\u2019 is the portrait of the extraordinary and undetected work of this Chinese dissident artist, Hu Jie. Despite making huge contributions to historical research by uncovering essential testimonies from China\u2019s past, his body of work hasn\u2019t been recognized and he has been long blacklisted. This film is animated by the urgency of giving him his silenced voice back.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Esattamente 26 anni fa, Il 22 febbraio 1994, si tenne a Marino, in provincia di Roma, il concerto dei Nirvana. Il documentario, ironico e scanzonato, racconta quel concerto ma anche un viaggio negli anni ’90, compiuto a ritroso dai due registi, spettatori di quell’epoca e di quell’evento memorabile.<\/span><\/p>\n

The film is a the light-hearted and ironic report of the the Nirvana concert that was held in Marino in the Province of Rome on February 22, 1994, exactly 16 years ago. But it is also a backwards journey through the \u201890s, conducted by the two directors, spectators of that era and that memorable event.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Per secoli solo pochi intrepidi, carovanieri e mercanti osarono solcare a cavallo o in cammello il deserto del Kazakistan: non c\u2019era posto per fondare citt\u00e0, non vi era nulla per cui combattere. Fu sempre cos\u00ec finch\u00e9 nel 1955 un pezzo di deserto senza nome fu invaso dai russi che avevano intravisto in quel fazzoletto di terra brulla un qualcosa di speciale che nessuno degli indigeni aveva notato: era lontano da tutto ma in compenso era a un passo dall\u2019universo.<\/span><\/p>\n

Over the centuries only few caravans dared to cross the northern route of the silk road that today lies in the territory of Kazakhstan. In this portion of Asian desert there was no place to build a majestic city nor anything else worth fighting for. Until in 1955 the Soviet government realised that those lands, far as they may be from the rest of the World, were just one step away from the Universe.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n
