Nancy Freeman ha una madre malata, grandi aspirazioni da scrittrice e un’esistenza digitale pi\u00f9 movimentata di quella reale. Sul web gioca a interpretare altre persone, inganna gli utenti che le scrivono, organizza persino incontri cui si prepara nei minimi dettagli, pur di sostenere le proprie bugie. Ma quando sua madre muore, in Nancy si spezza qualcosa. Colpita dall’intervista rilasciata in tv da Leo e Ellen, una coppia che trent’anni prima ha smarrito la figlia, Nancy si convince di essere la loro bambina. E bussa alla porta dei due genitori, nella speranza che la riconoscano.
