Molto pi\u00f9 di un rockumentary. L’occasione unica e forse irripetibile di mettere piede sul pianeta Nord Corea. Un’osservazione sul campo della vita a Pyongyang, tra partecipazione emotiva, crisi diplomatiche e momenti esilaranti, oltre la leggenda e i luoghi comuni proposti dei mass media.
\nSotto la guida di un ex-fan nel ruolo di direttore artistico e ambasciatore culturale, I Laibach, seminale e controversa band slovena di rock alternativo, volano in Corea del Nord con il progetto di esibirsi in uno dei pi\u00f9 prestigiosi teatri della capitale, in occasione del giorno della Liberazione nazionale dall’occupazione giapponese. 
\nMettendo a confronto le strette differenze ideologiche e culturali, la band lotta per passare la censura prima che le proprie canzoni vengano scatenate su un pubblico che non e\u0300 mai stato esposto al rock alternativo. 
\nNel frattempo si stanno preparando gli altoparlanti della propaganda al confine tra le due Coree e il countdown per la guerra viene annunciato\u2026

\nI LAIBACH. A 36 anni dalla loro genesi nella citta\u0300 industriale di Trbovlje (Jugoslavia), i Laibach sono ancora oggi la band internazionale piu\u0300 acclamata ad essere uscita dai paesi ex comunisti dell\u2019Europa centrorientale. Nati nel 1980, l\u2019anno della morte del fondatore Tito e difficile periodo per la Jugoslavia, i Laibach si oppongono a qualunque etichetta fosse rock, pop, techno. Amano autodefinirsi ingegneri dell\u2019animo umano: sono infatti capaci di far pensare, ballare e marciare con la stessa musica.<\/span><\/p>\n

Under the loving but firm guidance of an old fan turned director and cultural diplomat and to the surprise of a whole world, the ex-Yugoslavian cult band Laibach becomes the first foreign rock group ever to perform in the fortress state of North Korea. Confronting strict ideology and cultural differences, the band struggles to get their songs through the needle’s eye of censorship before they can be unleashed on an audience never before exposed to alternative rock’n’roll. Meanwhile, propaganda loudspeakers are being set up at the border between the two Koreas and a countdown to war is announced. The hills are alive…with the sound of music. <\/em><\/span><\/span>For those not familiar with Laibach, the band is something of a mix between Devo and Rammstein. In fact, Rammstein freely admits that is influenced by Laibach. Their performance art is steeped in fascist and nationalist imagery; apparently, the North Korean government does not understand the meaning of “satire” and this is one reason the band managed to get the dubious honor of playing rather than, say, Aerosmith or the Rolling Stones. In their own words, “We are fascists as much as Hitler was a painter”. Take that however you like.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
