Prima di morire, il leggendario chitarrista Paco de Lucia ha espresso approvazione per questo film sulla sua vita, dove si racconta cosa ha imparato in sei decadi di devozione al flamenco. Attraverso interviste intime, a tratti divertenti, con il maestro andaluso, s\u2019impara a conoscere altri grandi musicisti di flamenco, come il cantante Camaron, e musicisti jazz, come John McLaughlin, Al Di Meola e Chick Corea. De Lucia rigetta il concetto di genio, preferendo parlare del duro lavoro e della dedizione alla musica per ottenere il successo: alla fin fine \u00e8 stato lui il pi\u00f9 severo giudice di se stesso. Il lungometraggio non manca di raccontare anche chi ha denigrato il chitarrista: i puristi del flamenco, infatti, mal sopportavano le influenze jazzistiche nelle sue composizioni<\/span><\/p>\n

Guitar legend Paco de Lucia agreed to collaborate with director Francisco Sanchez Varela on this documentary about his life and some of the lessons that he learned throughout six decades of devotion to Flamenco music. <\/span>
\nThe film features a series of intimate, sometimes hilarious interviews with the Andalusian master, and plenty of his amazing music. We learn about his relationship with other Flamenco greats, like the singer Camaron, and jazz musicians, like John McLaughlin, Al Di Meola and Chick Corea, among others.<\/span>
\nDe Lucia plays down the concept of ‘genius’ and attributes success to hard work and dedication, and to learning from those around you. This is one of the main themes of the film. Another one is the tension between him and those Flamenco purists who were upset by his excursions into jazz territory, for example.
