Un intenso viaggio musicale nella vita, tanto eccezionale quanto quotidiana, di uno dei pi\u00f9 grandi dj del mondo per raccontare la vera storia di quella che \u00e8 stata l\u2019ultima grande rivoluzione musicale del XX secolo. Dall\u2019esibirsi davanti a 15.000 persone al Sonar Festival di Barcellona al Bassiani, la mecca della techno a Tbilisi in Georgia, passando per i club affollati di Tokyo. Dalla leggendaria pista da ballo dell\u2019Hacienda di Manchester alle stradine secondarie dei vicoli di Detroit.<\/span><\/p>\n

Il film di Gabin Rivoire fornisce anche uno spaccato storico inedito sulle comunit\u00e0 giovanili e sul ruolo delle contro-culture artistiche e musicali alla fine degli anni’80, includendo una riflessione sulla risposta politica dei governi alla cultura rave, dalle sanzioni giudiziarie alla repressione poliziesca. “Non siamo dove siamo oggi senza aver combattuto”, ha dichiarato Garnier.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

In the film, the tour footage and interviews are interspersed with archival footage that provides a flashback to the late \u201980s, when the techno scene was emerging in Detroit and England, in clubs like Manchester\u2019s Hacienda, where Garnier started his DJing journey, and then Rex, a club in Paris, where Garnier moved to next. The film also includes the political and judicial response to rave culture, which in some countries was met with police brutality. \u201cWe\u2019re not where we are today without a fight,\u201d Garnier said.<\/span><\/p>\n

When Garnier set off on his 2018\/2019 world tour, Rivoire traveled with him, taking in performances in front of 15,000 people at S\u00f3nar Festival in Barcelona, Bassiani, a mecca for techno in Tbilisi, Republic of Georgia, and crowded clubs in Tokyo. Rivoire also filmed interviews with other dance music pioneers, such as Carl Cox, Pedro Winter, Seth Troxler, Jeff Mills and Derrick May.<\/span><\/p>\n
