The On the Road Film Festival is an independent festival of international significance which follows an original path inspired by travel, geographical wandering, making a track across wild lands and city landscapes.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Presented in two separate competitions, and sections outside the competitions, with focal points and side events, the festival will take place from the weekend of 26 March till 10 April 2022 at the historic Cine Detour in the Monti area of Rome.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>In the competition there are 9 feature films and 9 shorts selected from over 200 proposed from 40 countries all over the world.<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Two juries comprised of distinguished personalities from the world of independent cinema, the art and literary worlds with a high female contingent, and the votes of the public watching the films, will allocate the prizes in cash as well as special mentions.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>The Festival will be inaugurated by two special events outside the competition. On Saturday 26 March 2022, there will be the screening of <strong>Osannaples<\/strong>, the documentary by Deborah Farina in the presence of the director and author and with Lino Vairetti, founder and leader of the Osanna, the legendary trailblazers of theatrical prog-rock which inspired Genesis. The film tells of the great fervour of the Neopolitan musical scene through the course of the 70s with interviews and original musical contributions and rare collectors\u2019 films.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>On Sunday 27 March, as in every edition of the festival, there will be a rich programme with live soundtrack of the silent On the Road cinema. Adriano Lanzi, Roman guitarist, composer, improvisor, and performer of electronic music, will follow the sound track of &nbsp;<strong>The Man with a Movie camera<\/strong>, by Dziga Vertov, filmed from dawn to dusk, mainly in the Ukrainian (then in the USSR) city of Odessa. Da un regista nato nell\u2019attuale Polonia, di famiglia ebrea, naturalizzato russo e poi diventato uno dei massimi esponenti dell\u2019avanguardia cinematografica sovietica ed europea, una straordinaria pellicola sperimentale dal valore universale, che scompagina la grammatica filmica e fa tesoro delle esperienze del futurismo e del costruttivismo in un galvanizzante crescendo di stimolazioni visive&nbsp;&#8211; con in pi\u00f9 un metalivello, assolutamente inedito per l\u2019epoca: mostrare il film nel suo farsi (la ripresa del cineoperatore in mezzo ai soggetti che riprende, il piano narrativo che si spezza per mostrare la pellicola nella sua fase di montaggio). <br \/>\nLa sonorizzazione elettronica di Adriano Lanzi segue fedelmente i diversi piani di densit\u00e0 delle immagini, e intende sottolinearne ambedue i livelli, tanto la narrazione quanto il \u201cprocesso\u201d creativo, nei loro continui sfasamenti e sovrapposizioni. <span style=\"font-family: 'trebuchet ms', geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Nato a Roma nel 1972, Adriano Lanzi \u00e8 chitarrista, compositore, improvvisatore, performer elettronico, occasionalmente bassista. This short film is based on a poem I wrote remembering the two weeks I spent in New York, on the occasion of my first photo exhibition overseas. I almost forgot this piece of writing, which I had unusually written directly in English during a long feverish night, until it came back to my mind fifteen years later when I went to Portugal and I started dreaming about America on the other side of the lonely Atlantic.
