Il film trae origine da uno dei racconti pi\u00f9 famosi della letteratura, \u201cIl naso\u201d di Nikolaj Vasil\u2019evi\u010d Gogol\u2019, portato a teatro come opera buffa in tre atti da Dmitri Shostakovich. \u00c8 un sogno che il Maestro del cinema di animazione Khrzhanovskiy ha covato per decenni, da quando il compositore Shostakovich aveva affidato allo stesso regista, allora trentenne, le musiche originali della suo lavoro per farne un\u2019opera visuale.
