\u201cPer decidere di lasciare il posto in cui vivi, ti deve mancare qualcosa, oppure devi averne troppo\u201d. In Istanbul Makami si intrecciano le strade di cinque musicisti provenienti da diverse parti del mondo, che si innamorano del \u201cMaqam\u201d (il sistema musicale della tradizione ottomana) e si trasferiscono in Turchia. Un film sul potere conoscitivo della musica, sull\u2019ostinazione, sul desiderio, sul lasciarsi tutto alle spalle per ritrovarsi nella dimensione del viaggio, cittadini del mondo. Cinque storie differenti accomunate dalla paura di inseguire i propri sogni e forse un tentativo di liberare i nostri. <\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/em>Leaving home and making music around the world.. \u2018\u0130stanbul Makam\u0131\u2019 is a cinematographic improvisation with 5 musicians\u00a0from abroad who fall in love with the Maqam Music (Classical\u00a0Ottoman Music) and decide to live in Turkey believing that music\u00a0might best be learned in the lands it was born and performed. Each\u00a0has different stories but the desire to find their own paths despite\u00a0modern times\u2019 obligations intersects their roads. Constructing three layers -music, \u0130stanbul and combination of both in the filmic platform-the film is a modern times fairytale in praise of \u0130stanbul and\u00a0its classical music; a film about obstinacy, desire, looking for one\u2019s\u00a0own raison d\u2019etre, travelling, being a world citizen and the power of\u00a0music to understand the other and express oneself in the pursuit of\u00a0intertwining stories following passion. It tells unique stories about\u00a0the common dreams we are afraid to approach, and thus, tries to\u00a0give inspiration to us to free ours.<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n
